Dev Patel in Talks to Star in A24’s Green Knight

A24’s adaptation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight may have found its star, according to Deadline. Dev Patel is in reportedly in talks to join Green Knight, set to be directed by A Ghost Story’s David Lowery.

You may remember Sir Gawain and the Green Knight from your high school English class. The medieval tale follows Sir Gawain, one of the knights from King Arthur’s Round Table, who accepts the Green Knight’s challenge to strike him with an axe as long as he can return the blow in a year and a day. Not only that, but Sir Gawain also faces a test of loyalty from Lady Bertilak.

Patel was most recently seen in The Wedding Guest and Hotel Mumbai. His 2016 role in Lion earned the actor a BAFTA and his first Academy Award nomination. Green Knight is being produced by Lowery, as well as Toby Halbrooks and James M. Johnston. Ley Line Entertainment’s Tim Headington and Theresa Steele Page are also taking up producing duties.
