Watching Michael Myers Rock the Drums Is the Best, Weirdest Four Minutes You’ll Spend Today

With the premiere of David Gordon Green’s Halloween sequel only days away, anticipation has just about hit the zenith of its fever pitch. And how do you know when we’ve reached peak Halloween enthusiasm? When you’re watching Michael Myers rock the hell out a drum kit, that’s how!

The below video, from metal drummer Brandon Zackey, is actually rather awesome. Using the newly reformulated John Carpenter Halloween theme from the upcoming film, Zackey goes all out in his accompaniment—just watch for the cutaway to his feet around the two minute mark for some of the fastest kick-drumming you’re ever going to see. He then segues into a medley of “The Shape stalks” music, as inspired by key scenes in the original Halloween.

The whole thing is oddly mesmerizing, even if you only have a passing appreciation for Halloween or Carpenter’s iconic score. Once you start watching the video below, it’s very tough to tear your eyes away from it.
