Today, Warner Bros. announced a sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the Harry Potter spin-off releasing this November. J.K. Rowling will again be writing the script for the Fantastic Beasts sequel, which is slated to release on Nov. 16, 2018.
The sequel will see Eddie Redmayne reprise the role of Newt Scamander in the wizarding world’s version of the 1920s. Warner Bros. described the film, writing, “The second Fantastic Beasts movie moves deeper into an increasingly dark time for the wizarding world, where Newt and our other heroes have to decide on their allegiances.”
This news comes hot on the tails of the opening of the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London. Paste’s own Josh Jackson attended a release party for the script and shared his thoughts and pictures here.
