New on HBO Now: All the Movies and TV Coming in August

Another month has almost come to a close, and you know what that means: A new slate of films and TV arriving (and departing) from FX Now. As always, we’re here to tell you what’s new, and what you should check out while you have the chance.

On the feature film side of things, we have some critically acclaimed, Oscar-nominated movies headed to the service in August, including the likes of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, which earned Oscar wins for Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell. Also arriving is Darkest Hour, which likewise won an Oscar for Gary Oldman in his portrayal of Winston Churchill during the darkest days of WWII. Also arriving and of note: Murder on the Orient Express, Father Figures, The Blind Side, Fargo, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, The Fugitive and Super Troopers, among others. However, you’re also losing some quality films from HBO Now as well, including the entire Back to the Future trilogy. Oh, and Halloween: Resurrection, which no one will be missing any time soon, even with a new Halloween sequel on the horizon.

As for the TV side of the spectrum, HBO is certainly excited about the season three return of their Emmy-nominated comedy Insecure with Issa Rae, as well as Dwayne Johnson’s Ballers. Also new, in HBO’s words:

Random Acts of Flyness, a new late-night series from artist Terence Nance that explores the patriarchy, white supremacy and sensuality from a new, thought-provoking perspective, plus the third season of hit animated adult television show ANIMALS and seasons 1 and 2 of the suspenseful underworld drama Aranyelet (AKA Golden Life) from HBO Europe.
