26 years after the Halloween cult-classic Hocus Pocus was first released, a sequel is in active development at Disney+, per Collider.
The original 1993 film has developed a large fanbase over the years, despite an initially cold reception. The new film is being written by Jen D’Angelo (Workaholics). As of 2017, it was reported that Scarlett Lacey and David Kirschner (a producer for the original movie) would serve as executive producers, but this latest update doesn’t specify their involvement in the new movie.
While the involvement of original cast members Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy has yet to be confirmed, Midler said in a 2014 Reddit AMA that she had “canvassed the girls and they are willing to do it.”
