Russo Brothers Implore Fans to Keep a Lid on Infinity War Spoilers in Open Letter

As the most high-stakes and enormous Marvel movie to date looms before us, the uber-blockbuster’s directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, have taken to social media to implore any fans fortunate enough to see Avengers: Infinity War before its April 27 debut (or after, for that matter) to keep their spoilers to themselves.

“Only a handful of people know the film’s true plot,” the Russos stress in an open letter. “We’re asking that when you see Infinity War, in the coming months, that you maintain the same level of secrecy so that all fans can have an equal experience when they watch it for the first time.” The reason for their Mad Titan-assisted entreaty is clear: Infinity War is going to have a body count, and the brothers Russo would rather keep any Avenger deaths close to their collective vest.

The internet has kicked its speculation engine into overdrive in recent weeks, prognosticating as to which of the Avengers will survive their Infinity War with Thanos (Josh Brolin). Based on what we’ve seen in the film’s trailers and TV spots to this point, we can guess at who’s going to make it (Spider-Man, Black Panther, most—if not all—of the Guardians of the Galaxy) and who isn’t (Iron Man, Cap and Vision seem like certain goners), but for now, assuming moviegoers heed the film’s directors’ request, that’s all that we can do.
