Scream Queen Curtis, Lillard and Hodder Host the Search for Halloween’s Biggest Fan in National ‘Face of Halloween’ Competition

It’s undisputed that America is hands down obsessed with Halloween. At the center of that obsession for nearly the last 50 years is Hollywood Scream Queen, Jamie Lee Curtis. This spooky season, she’s putting her terrifying title to good use as the host of Face of Halloween — a national online fundraising-based competition benefiting the nonprofit Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Other OG horror villains joining Curtis as hosts are Matthew Lillard — who’s reprising his Scream role in theaters this February — and Friday the 13th’s real life Jason Voorhees, actor Kane Hodder who’s been haunting nightmares since 1980.

These horrifying hosts are on the search for Halloween’s biggest fanatic. And the grand prize is SO bone-chillingly good that even the biggest haunt-enthusiast will get goosebumps!

Horror Helping Hospitals

Curtis’s involvement in the Face of Halloween competition goes far beyond her name. A longtime supporter of Starlight Children’s Foundation, Curtis explains, “Starlight helps children face real fears with strength and joy. I’m honored to help shine a light on their work.”

Curtis, Lillard, and Hodder will support and guide competitors as they submit photos, rally their communities (social and real life), and collect votes. Each voter gets one free vote every 24 hours. Additional votes by donation ($1 = 1 vote) can be cast to support Starlight Children’s Foundation, so horror fandom comes full circle, funding Starlight’s play-based programs aiming to make hospital stays a little less scary for seriously ill kids through toy deliveries, fun hospital gowns, gaming, and more.

Behind the competition is Colossal, a professional fundraiser that has turned online competitions into a growing model for charitable support.

The Prize

Every horror-fan’s fantasy come true, one competitor who can survive the 9-week competition will take home an unlucky $13,000, plus earn a feature in horror culture magazine, Rue Morgue. But the real thrill comes with the once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The winner will have a meet-and-greet with Curtis and Lillard IRL, and join horror legend Kane Hodder for a paranormal investigation.
