Netflix Picks Up Josh Gad Superhero Comedy, With Daisy Ridley and Luke Evans Attached

Netflix has made a successful bid for Super-Normal, an original superhero comedy from Josh Gad. Per THR, Gad will produce and star in the film, and has enlisted his friends Luke Evans (his Beauty and the Beast co-star) and Daisy Ridley (his Murder on the Orient Express co-star) to appear in the film alongside him.

Dan Lin, who produced Netflix’s Death Note adaptation, is attached to the project, along with his colleague Jonathan Eirich. Brothers Aaron and Jordan Kandell (Moana) are writing the screenplay. The report describes the project as “character-driven” and a “subversive” take on the superhero genre with which Hollywood is currently enamored.

Gad and Ridley can currently be seen in theaters in Murder on the Orient Express, and Evans recently appeared in Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. Check back with Paste for further updates on Super-Normal.
