Superman’s Death Looms Large in Jaw-Dropping New Justice League Trailer

DCEU team-up blockbuster Justice League swoops into theaters in just over a month, and the Zack Snyder-helmed, Joss Whedon-assisted film received a shockingly good new trailer today.

Henry Cavill’s mustache-less Clark Kent makes an appearance to start things off, appearing in Lois Lane’s (Amy Adams) dream to remind us all that he will still be a factor in this story from beyond the grave. The Kryptonian’s death has left “a world without hope” in its wake, and the titular league is forced to come together to prevent the apocalypse. Set to a cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes” (because of the superheros, you see), the bulk of the trailer is a blur of eye-popping action sequences, with just the right amount of (surprisingly effective) humor mixed in.

Justice League opens on Nov. 17. Watch the new trailer above, and revisit the first trailer here.
