Watch Four Women Take on the Establishment, Run for Congress in Netflix's Knock Down the House Trailer

Netflix has shared the trailer for its new documentary Knock Down the House, which follows the campaigns of four women who ran for Congress in 2018: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Amy Vilela, Cori Bush and Paula Jean Swearengin.

The film takes a deep dive into the personal stories of each of the four women and how their individual backgrounds motivated them to take on some of the most powerful incumbents in Congress. Knock Down the House followed each of them on the campaign trail in 2018, observing how they engaged with voters and spread their message during one of the most pivotal midterm elections in modern history.

Knock Down the House was directed by Rachel Lears, who is perhaps best known for her 2014 documentary The Hand That Feeds, about a group of undocumented restaurant workers who started an independent union in New York City. Lears wrote the film with Robin Blotnick, who also worked with her on The Hand That Feeds. The pair produced the film alongside Sarah Olson, who produced the food industry documentary Fed Up. The documentary screened at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, taking home both the Audience Award: U.S. Documentary and the Festival Favorite Award.
