The Life Trailer Promises Plenty of Space-Based Thrills

Space movies are in abundance these days, but that’s not exactly a bad thing. Life is just the latest of these, but it’s got enough star power to more than justify its own existence. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds, the film focuses on a six-person crew aboard the International Space Station. While exploring, the crew discovers the first evidence of life on Mars.

Much like Alien, the alien life is much more sinister than it initially appears, and it’s likely more intelligent, as well. The action in the trailer is set to words from a 1962 speech from John F. Kennedy: “No man can fully grasp how far and how fast we have come,” he says. “And, therefore, as we set sail, we ask God’s blessing on the most hazardous and dangerous and greatest adventure on which man has ever embarked.”

Life also stars Rebecca Ferguson (The Girl on the Train) and is directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House). The film is set to hit theaters Memorial Day, 2017. Check out the first trailer above.
