Netflix Adds Thomasin McKenzie, Lola Kirke, Dean Winters, More to Lost Girls Cast

Netflix is adding to the cast of true-crime story Lost Girls, the narrative feature debut of critically acclaimed documentarian Liz Garbus.

Joining previously announced star Amy Ryan are Thomasin McKenzie (Leave No Trace), Gabriel Byrne (The Usual Suspects), Lola Kirke (Gone Girl), Oona Laurence (Pete’s Dragon), Reed Birney (House of Cards), Dean Winters (Oz), Miriam Shor (Younger), Kevin Corrigan (Goodfellas) and Rosal Colon (Orange is the New Black).

Based on the book by award-winning investigative reporter Robert Kolker, Lost Girls will be produced by Anne Carey and Kevin McCormick. Michael Werwie, who recently wrote the Ted Bundy story Extremely Wicked, will pen the script.

The film follows Mari Gilbert (Ryan) as she puts pressure on law enforcement agents to search for her missing daughter. In the process, Mari uncovers new information on a wave of unsolved murders of young female sex workers on the South Shore of Long Island. The story has been described as both a true-crime story and a strong character piece.

McKenzie will play Ryan’s daughter, while Byrne will take on the role of the Police Commissioner overseeing the investigation. Winters will play a detective; Kirke, the sister of one of the victims; Colon, a bold reporter; and Corrigan, a vigilant neighbor.
