Louis C.K. Made a Secret Movie, I Love You Daddy

Surprise! Louis C.K. shot and starred in a secret movie, and that secret is now out.

C.K. stars in I Love You Daddy alongside Chloe Grace Moretz, John Malkovich, Rose Byrne, Charlie Day, Helen Hunt and Pamela Adlon. The 123-minute movie, shot entirely in black and white on 35mm film, will screen at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Per the Los Angeles Times, I Love You Daddy, “set in New York, centers on Glen Topher, a successful television producer and writer, and his daughter China.” (None of this is surprising, considering C.K.’s oeuvre.) C.K. plays Topher, while Moretz will portray China.

I Love You Daddy is the first feature film C.K. has directed since he helmed 2001’s much-maligned Pootie Tang. The new film’s surprise announcement is akin to that of C.K.’s acclaimed web dramedy Horace and Pete, which dropped out of the blue last spring.
