Margot Robbie Joins Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman in Fox News Film

What do Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie have in common, besides having Southern Hemisphere citizenship, stunning blonde hair and more money than any of us will ever make in our entire lives combined? With the most recent addition of Robbie, all three actresses are in talks to appear in Annapurna’s forthcoming film about the women of Fox News and the sexual harassment allegations made against former Fox CEO Roger Ailes, according to THR.

In the as-yet-untitled film, Kidman will play former Fox & Friends anchor Gretchen Carlson, with Theron cast as former Fox News host Megyn Kelly, in addition to acting as a producer. Robbie is in talks to play an associate producer at the news network.

In early July of 2016, Ailes resigned as CEO of Fox News after Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against him, alleging that she had been fired from the network after rejecting Ailes’ sexual advances. Days later, six other women came forward with similar allegations, including Kelly. By the end of the month, Ailes left Fox News, pocketing $40 million via an exit agreement in the process before going on to serve as an adviser to the Trump campaign. He died in 2017.

All three powerhouse actresses have garnered Oscar nominations: Theron has been nominated twice, with a win for 2004’s Monster; Kidman four times, winning for 2003’s The Hours; and Robbie was nominated for last year’s I, Tonya.
