Martin McDonagh, the prolific film director and playwright known for feature films In Bruges (2008), Seven Psychopaths (2012) and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), is set to direct a new film starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, who both had leading roles in In Bruges. The film will be called The Banshees of Inisheer, according to Deadline.
In Bruges, a dark comedy about a pair of hitmen (Gleeson and Farrell) hiding out in the titular Belgian town, catalyzed McDonagh’s career. Three Billboards, which centers on a woman (Frances McDormand) who seeks answers for the death of her daughter, earned seven Academy Award nominations, including a Best Actress win for McDormand and a Best Supporting Actor win for Sam Rockwell.
