“Beginning the End” of the MCU As We Know It: Avengers 4 Commences Production

Apparently Hawkeye’s broken arms have healed up—or maybe he’s straight-up dead—because production on Avengers 4 is officially underway, according to a recent Russo brothers Facebook post.

The post’s caption reads, “Beginning the end,” accompanied by a gloved hand holding up four fingers, and, indeed, it’s anybody’s guess where the MCU will go after this movie. It’s expected that several Marvel stalwart characters could die, and the Russo brothers will be attempting to resolve over a decade’s worth of Marvel tales.

“These two movies are intended to be the culmination of everything that has happened in the [Marvel Cinematic Universe] since the very first Iron Man movie,” Anthony Russo told EW last year. “In being a culmination, these movies are in some ways going to be an end to certain things, and in some ways, they’re going to be the beginning of certain things.” We can’t wait.

Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters on May 4, 2018, and Avengers 4 (as it’s currently working-titled) will drop on May 3, 2019—the films will be the longest yet in the MCU. To see the Russos’ glove photo in all its quadradactyl-y glory, check out their Facebook post here.
