Dylan O’Brien Shoots, Runs in Action-Packed Maze Runner: The Death Cure Trailer

After quite a delay, the final film in the Maze Runner trilogy is finally coming. Picking up after The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure follows the group of escaped Gladers led by Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) as they search for answers and attempt to break into the most dangerous maze of all—the Last City, controlled by notorious organization WKCD.

O’Brien himself had a brush with death during the production of this film, receiving serious injuries that delayed the film by almost a year. Seeing the actor well and active in the action-heavy American Assassin was a good sign for fans of the Teen Wolf star, and this film looks just as action-packed.

While the previous film felt like an extended chase scene (as we mentioned in our review), this one resembles more of a heist, with the group attempting to break in and infiltrate a dangerous environment, rather than escape. The trailer highlights an action set piece with the group stealing some sort of cargo from a train car. Game of Thrones alumni are in attendance in the film, most prominently Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Aidan Gillen and Nathalie Emmanuel—additionally, Breaking Bad fans are always happy to see more Giancarlo Esposito.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure will finally arrive in theaters on Jan. 26, 2018. While January release dates are generally death sentences for movies, the title of this one makes us think that it will be all right. Check out our review for the first Maze Runner film here.
