Sony Producer Says Tom Holland Will Return for Another Trilogy of MCU Spider-Man Movies

The upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, due out Dec. 17, 2021 in the U.S., is being positioned as more or less the culmination of the entire last 20 years of Spider-Man cinematic content, beyond even the MCU years for the character—a sort of Endgame for everything in the greater Spider-Verse. It will see the return of many characters long gone, from both the Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire era, and the subsequent (and less beloved) Amazing Spider-Man era that starred Andrew Garfield. And with so much riding on this big culmination, which also delves into the live action version of the Marvel multiverse seen in Into the Spider-Verse, it’s perhaps no surprise that we haven’t heard a lot about Marvel/Sony/Disney’s plans for the character after this film is finally out. Until, that is, Sony producer Amy Pascal went and confirmed today that Tom Holland will remain, potentially for an entire additional trilogy of films.
Pascal, who has produced various Spider-Man adjacent projects including Homecoming, Venom and Morbius, rather casually (and unexpectedly) made this announcement in the course of an interview with Fandango. When asked if this was the end of the series, Pascal dropped the following:
