Henry Cavill Joins the Cast of Mission: Impossible 6

According to Deadline, Henry Cavill is the newest addition to the long-running, and frankly excellent, action series Mission: Impossible. Written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the sixth addition to the franchise is due out on July 27, 2018.

The whole deal was seemingly orchestrated via Instagram, in a cutesy question from director Christopher McQuarrie asking if Cavill would want to hop on over into his movie, to which Cavill responded, “Only if I get to fly for real.” Y’know, because he’s Superman. Negotiations were finalized and he’ll join, hopefully, as a suave British spy in the new Ethan Hunt adventure. This marks the second recent addition to the film’s cast, following that of The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby. After the hugely positive reaction to Rogue Nation, which was awesome, this will be a welcome addition to the summer lineup of 2018.

Check out the aforementioned Instagram post below. Mission: Impossible 6 is set for a July 2018 release, and let’s hope that they can one-up the opening scene from Rogue Nation, which you can see further down. And you should watch it, because Tom Cruise is literally dangling off a plane.

Say, @henrycavill. Had a thought. Curious if you’re interested in a role in the 6th installment of Mission: Impossible. No pressure.
