Director Jim Mickle (Cold in July, Leonard) is back at it with the Netflix-exclusive In the Shadow of the Moon, described in a press release as “a genre-blending psychological thriller that examines the power of time, and how its passing can either bring us together or tear us apart.”
Arriving on the streaming service on Sept. 27, the film takes viewers back to 1988, where “Philadelphia police officer Thomas Lockhart (Boyd Holbrook), hungry to become a detective, begins tracking a serial killer who mysteriously resurfaces every nine years. But when the killer’s crimes begin to defy all scientific explanation, Locke’s obsession with finding the truth threatens to destroy his career, his family, and possibly his sanity.”
Bringing the story to life onscreen together with Holbrook are Cleopatra Coleman, Bokeem Woodbine, Rudi Dharmalingam, Rachel Keller and Michael C. Hall. It’s a reunion for the director and Hall, as Mickle previously directed the 2014 film Cold in July with Hall as the lead.
