Next month will see a host of new premieres and recent theatrical releases, as well as several returning seasons of fan-favorite shows, on HBO Now, HBO’s online live-streaming service. Amongst HBO’s new original programming come the premieres of much-anticipated shows like The Night Of and Vice Principals, which detail the sociopolitical implications of a high-profile New York City murder case and follow the day-to-day lives of two vice principals as they attempt to almost-run a high school, respectively. Beloved dramedy series Looking, about a group of gay friends navigating life in San Francisco, will find some closure in the form of a TV movie that will serve as its finale after a two-season run.
Returning programming includes the season two premiere of the show Ballers, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the financial manager and much more for a group of NFL players, rookie hotshots and veteran players alike, as he tries to juggle their personal and professional lives on top of his own. As for new theatrical releases, Jem and the Holograms, Straight Outta Compton, Suffragette and more will begin streaming on HBO Now starting in July.
