New On Showtime: All The Movies And TV Coming In May
It’s hard to believe we’ll be in May by the end of this weekend, but that’s the passage of time for you. The new month is bringing a whole bunch of fresh programming from Showtime, including the Season 3 premiere of thriller series Penny Dreadful and the documentary Just Let Go – Lenny Kravitz Live, which documents six months on the rocker’s Strut tour. House of Lies and DICE will continue to air as normal on Sunday nights, with the former creeping closer to its much-hyped Cuba finale.
Additionally, The Stanford Prison Experiment, a 2015 film we loved, will be available on the network starting on May 14. “This is the crucial truth some movies that try to dramatize inexplicable real-life events forget: put any of us in the same situation and, under the right set of precise circumstances, we’d act just as monstrously,” wrote our own Tim Grierson of the film. “Among the other laudable elements of The Stanford Prison Experiment, director Kyle Patrick Alvarez never, ever takes his eye off that reality, producing the rare film that explains humanity’s darkest behavior with such matter-of-fact clarity that it’s both chilling and illuminating.”
