2018 Oscar Winners: The Complete List
Photo by Tim Boyle/GettyTonight’s the night: It’s nearly showtime at the 90th Academy Awards, featuring returning host Jimmy Kimmel and, for some reason, returning Best Picture presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. We’d have preferred La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz, but what can you do?
At any rate, this evening’s Oscars will be a compelling show, and not just because of that “Mystery of Love” performance from Sufjan Stevens, St. Vincent and company. These are the first Academy Awards in the post-Harvey Weinstein era, after all, and we imagine there are some powerful acceptance speeches in the offing, although Hollywood has many demons left to exorcise.
In terms of the awards themselves, there are plenty of categories that appear to be locked up already, but also a handful of close races poised to deliver some serious intrigue. History may very well be made tonight, as it was with the announcement of this year’s nominees. We can only hope the arc of the Oscars’ many egregious imbalances will continue to bend towards inclusivity.
Whether you’re endeavoring to lay waste to your Oscar pool or just sound smart at your Oscars party, you would do well to check out Paste’s 2018 Oscars preview, featuring the Paste Movies team’s picks for who will (and should) win in all 24 categories, plus links to our various advocations for individual films. An Oscar-inspired cocktail or two certainly wouldn’t hurt, either.
Watch this space to follow along with tonight’s results in real time, starting alongside the ceremony at 8 p.m. EST. In the meantime, you can check out the nominees for each category below—winners will be offset in bold as they are announced.
