It’s not every day you have a chance to win a copy of Paste’s movie of the year, but that’s exactly what we’ve teamed up with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment to offer you this fine Friday. We’re giving away a Blu-ray + Digital bundle of Parasite, Bong Joon Ho’s universally acclaimed, Oscar-nominated genre-bender that unforgettably examines the “volatile, symbiotic relationship between the uber-wealthy and the have-nots.”
Readers who want a chance to win a Blu-ray + Digital bundle of Parasite can enter here. U.S. entries only. Contest runs today, Friday, Jan. 24, through Sunday, Feb. 2, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET.
Specifically, Parasite revolves around the Kim family—rich in street smarts but not much else—and the Park family, the picture of aspirational wealth. The two houses are brought together, whether by chance or fate, gifting the Kims a golden opportunity: College-aged Ki-woo (Choi Woo Shik) hatches a scheme through which he and his sister Ki-jung (Park So Dam) install themselves as tutor and art therapist to the Parks’ children (Jung Ziso and Hyun-jun Jung), later insinuating their parents (Song Kang Ho and Chang Hyae Jin) into the house as providers of various “luxury services”—meanwhile, the oblivious Parks (Cho Yeo Jeong and Lee Sun Kyun) are bankrolling the entire Kim household. But when a parasitic interloper threatens to disrupt the Kims’ elaborate scheme, a savage, underhanded battle for dominance breaks out, threatening to destroy the fragile ecosystem between the Kims and Parks. The thrilling, darkly comic result is Paste’s top film of 2019, not to mention one of our top films of the decade.
