Paul Feig to Direct Turned On, Fox Comedy About a Female Engineer

Paul Feig has signed on to direct Turned On for Fox, according to Variety. The film comes from a script written by Charlie Kesslering, a host’s assistant on The Late Late Show With James Corden.

The script focuses on an awkward engineer who builds an android to fill in for her, only to find later that the robot has become self-actualized. Feig has had a streak of successful comedies in recent years, including Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy and a forthcoming mother-daughter comedy starring Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn.

It’s unclear as of now who will star in Turned On, but Feig’s streak of comedies focused on women is an admirable one. Now if only we could get more women directing these things …
