Before his unexpected death, Philip Seymour Hoffman had a few more unreleased films that will hit theaters throughout this year. One of those films is God’s Pocket. Hoffman plays the main character, Mickey Scarpato, with Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) playing his spouse. The thriller film is about Mickey and how he finds himself entrapped in covering up his stepson’s death from a construction accident. The storyline is based off of Pete Dexter’s novel from 1983 and was directed by John Slattery (Mad Men). God’s Pocket will also feature John Turturro (O Brother, where Are Thou), Glen Fleshler (Blue Jasmine), Caleb Landry Jones (Contraband) and Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes). The film made its premiere earlier this year at Sundance Film Festival and is slated to release in theaters on May 9.
