The film stars Korean A-listers Ryu Seung-ryong (Miracle in Cell No. 7) and Shim Eun-Kyung (Miss Granny), both of whom were voice actors in Yeon’s animated Train to Busan prequel Seoul Station, as well as Park Jung-min (Dongju: Portrait of a Poet) and Train star Jung Yu-mi, who played the pregnant wife of Sang-hwa, everyone’s favorite working-class badass from that film.
Plot details are sparse at the moment, but we know that the story will follow an ordinary guy who inadvertently gains superpowers and uses them to help his daughter and others around them.
With Train to Busan, Yeon revitalized the zombie genre, injecting doses of humorous, harrowing life into the film despite the ubiquitous undead roaming the Train compartments. As such, he definitely has it in him to bring a similar level of innovation to superhero fare, which is why we’ll be keeping an eye on Psychokinesis. Stay tuned for any updates on the film’s production.
In the meantime, if you haven’t already, catch up on Yeon’s zombie sensation, which is now streaming on Netflix.
