Donald Glover Rumored to be Front-Runner to Play Young Lando Calrissian in Han Solo Film

Yesterday, The Wrap reported that Lando Calrissian will be appearing in the planned young Han Solo standalone film, based on anonymous sources. Given the history between Lando and Han, the former’s appearing in a young Han Solo film was almost a given in most people’s minds. There are now rumors that the front-runner to play young Lando is none other than Donald Glover, Birth.Movies.Death’s Devin Faraci writes.

Now, Faraci does not cite any sources—the writer simply says this is what he is “hearing,” so this should be taken with a huge grain of salt. However, if this rumor is true, Glover could be an excellent fit for the role. Glover is best known for the role of Troy on Community, and as the rapper Childish Gambino, as well as for a recent performance in the Oscar-nominated The Martian—his chops, both dramatic and comedic, are hardly up for debate. Consider us skeptically thrilled.
