The Star Wars Female Heroes Are Finally Getting Their Own Action Figure Line

Star Wars is littered with hundreds of memorable characters, not least of which are the numerous ass-kicking heroines that have saved the day, nay, the universe repeatedly. Well, finally, these heroic women are receiving their own action figure (aka, not doll) line.

Featuring characters from all over, the lineup includes Sabine Wren from Star Wars: Rebels, Jyn Erso of Rogue One, Rey from the new main cast in Force Awakens and, of course, Princess Leia from the original trilogy. These new 11-inch figures will be released in conjunction with the new Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, a YouTube series based on the untold adventures of Star Wars’ greatest female heroes. Felicity Jones and Daisy Ridley will reprise their respective roles, and Lupita Nyong’o will return as Maz Kanata, the storyteller and host of the series.

Star Wars: Forces of Destiny is for anyone who has been inspired by Leia’s heroism, Rey’s courage, or Ahsoka’s tenacity,” said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in a statement. “We’re thrilled that so many of the original actors are reprising their roles in these shorts which capture the small moments and everyday decisions that shape who these characters are. It is a fun new way for people to experience Star Wars.”

These figures will hit the shelves on Aug. 1, following the premiere of Star Wars: Forces of Destiny in July. Check out a couple of photos of the figures and a trailer for the forthcoming YouTube series below.
