The escapist fantasy of Star Wars is more present than ever in a new clip from behind the scenes of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but at the same time, this new video shows how the magic is made real.

The footage from Rogue One premiered at Star Wars Celebration in London on Friday, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the forthcoming sci-fi spin-off.

The three-minute clip promises realized fantasies, in terms of both the action sequences and the bold characters.

Director Gareth Edwards, who remade Godzilla in 2014, likens creating a Star Wars film to playing with beloved action figures as a kid, but on a much, much larger scale.

Watch the clip above and mark your calendars for Rogue One’s release on Dec. 16.
