Turturro is writing and directing Going Places, which is based on the 1974 French film Les Valseuses. That phrase, naturally, is slang for testicles. In the film, Quintana is a thief who competes with another criminal named Petey (Bobby Cannavale) to give a women (Audrey Tautou) her first orgasm. Check out the official synopsis to see how the plot thickens from there:
John Turturro plays Jesus Quintana in Going Places, a film about a trio of misfits whose irreverent, sexually charged dynamic evolves into a surprising love story as their spontaneous and flippant attitude towards the past or future backfires time and again, even as they inadvertently perform good deeds. When they make enemies with a gun-toting hairdresser, their journey becomes one of constant escape from the law, from society and from the hairdresser, all while the bonds of their outsider family strengthen.
While there’s no word on whether Jeff Bridges will reprise his role as The Dude, we do know that Susan Sarandon is also in the cast. Producers include Sidney Kimmel, John Penotti, Robert Salerno, Fernando Sulichin and Paul-Dominique Vacharasinthu. Bruce Toll, Max Arvelaiz and Michael Lewis are the executive producers, and financing the project is Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, New Element and Tribus P Film. There are no official distributors, but Cornerstone Pictures is expected to start looking for buyers on Nov. 2. Until then, check out Turturro back in character above.
