Watch the First Trailer for The Glass Castle Starring Brie Larson
Images via LionsgateLionsgate just released the first trailer for The Glass Castle, based on the best-selling memoir by Jeanette Walls, which remained on the New York Times bestseller list for 261 weeks. Brie Larson plays an adult Walls, a New York-based journalist who is still grappling with her wildly dysfunctional childhood when her parents reappear in her life.
The film chronicles Walls’ poverty-stricken upbringing, marked by frequent moves as her nonconformist parents drag Walls and her sister squatting from house to house, moving every time bill collectors come to root them out.
Walls told People Larson was the best actress to bring her memoir to life, saying, “She understands how to be strong and vulnerable at the same time, how you can fight and be scared at the same time.”
Woody Harrelson and Naomi Watts play Larson’s parents alongside Max Greenfield, Ian Armitage and Sarah Snook, who also star in the film. Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, who first worked with Larson on his 2013 film Short Term 12, wrote and directed Castle.
