The LEGO Movie Sequel Gets New Logo and Subtitle

The LEGO Movie sequel aims to build, brick by brick, upon the original

The LEGO Movie Sequel Gets New Logo and Subtitle

The LEGO Movie sequel has found its title, its release window and an inventive new logo. The sequel, titled The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, will build its way to theaters in February of 2019. This announcement was made via LEGO’s Twitter account and the announcement also included a new logo that shows the title, in LEGO form, quite literally building upon itself. The duality of its meaning is obvious to the point of comedy, but it is an appealing logo nonetheless.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller will not be returning to direct this time around, though they did write the first draft of the script, to which BoJack Horseman’s Raphael Bob-Waksberg also contributed. The director, this time around, is Mike Mitchell—the director of Trolls. The sequel is said to be a space musical filled with space action and adventure, plus all of the humor that made the original so successful. That is all we know about the sequel for now, but more will come to light as the film’s release inches ever closer.

Until then, check out some interesting LEGO-based information about the forthcoming LEGO The Incredibles videogame.
