The film focuses on two grownup sisters who find out their childhood home is about to be sold. Before they move everything out, they decide to go out with a bang by hosting one last big party.
There’s something about this premise that brings to mind the 2008 film Step Brothers, two middle-aged adults who are basically grownup children and in denial that their home is about to be sold. Even the title is pretty similar, but nevertheless, Sisters seems to offer plenty of silly antics and laughs that only Tina Fey and Amy Poehler can pull off so well.
To prove their confidence in this film, Sisters is coming out the same day as Star Wars: Episode VII. Fey and Poehler will bank on a large and strong fanbase to make a go of it against the sci-fi monolith. For those who are not huge Star Wars fans, this could offer a great alternative to go see in theaters.
Sisters comes out Dec. 18.
