The Precious J.R.R. Tolkien Biopic Has its Official Trailer

The forthcoming J.R.R. Tolkien biopic, aptly named Tolkien, has received its first trailer.
The self-aware new trailer (did someone say fellowship?) gives us a first look at Nicholas Hoult’s portrayal of the humble Oxford professor as he faces down his (fire) demons.
From his tumultuous past as an outcast orphan and his time as a British soldier in World War I to his relationship with his wife and creative muse Edith Bratt (portrayed by Lily Collins), Tolkien will dramatize the events that led the titular character to creating one of the most famous fantasy worlds of all time.
Colm Meaney, Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson, Tom Glynn-Carney, Craig Roberts, Laura Donnelly, Genevieve O’Reilly, Pam Ferris and Derek Jacobi also star.
Tolkien was directed by Dome Karukoski from a script by David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford, and premieres in theaters on May 10. Watch the trailer below.
