Russo Brothers Recruit Tom Holland for Cherry

Tom Holland is currently in talks to star in Joe and Anthony Russo’s forthcoming film adaptation of the novel Cherry by Nico Walker, as Variety reports.

The Russo brothers will direct and produce the film—their first non-Marvel-based feature—with Jessica Goldberg adapting the screenplay. The film will be based on Walker’s true-life accounts of his life as a former Army medic dealing with PTSD, opioid addiction and a prison conviction.

Although the Russo brothers will ink their Marvel storyline’s final issue this year with Avengers: Endgame, Holland is set to swing back into action with this summer’s Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Cherry is currently set to be released in 2020 from the Russos’ AGBO.
