Watch the Teaser Trailer for Insidious: Chapter 3

The summer of sequels and prequels keeps stacking up. Insidious: Chapter 3, is joining the anticipated releases of the season, going from being just another scary-as-heck possession flick to a full-blown franchise.

According to Nerdist, the film will not be a sequel to Insidious 2, but rather a prequel that takes place before the first Insidious. Unlike the first two films of the trilogy, Chapter 3 will not be directed by James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring). Insidious co-creator Leigh Whannel will be at the helm this time, following the origin story of Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye), a psychic who helps a teenage girl who is tormented by a demon.

Insidious: Chapter 3 will possess theaters on June 5. Focus Features has also revealed the film’s official poster, which you can view below.
