A Tribe Called Quest Detail Final Album, Feat. Kendrick Lamar, André 3000, Jack White, More

Following Q-Tip’s handwritten Facebook announcement, A Tribe Called Quest have detailed their forthcoming final record in a New York Times interview. Titled We Got It From Here, Thank You For Your Service, the album features André 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Jack White, Elton John and Busta Rhymes. An Instagram post from Chris Rock back in April actually revealed that Jack White, André 3000 and more were working together; however, it was presumed to be for André’s elusive new record.

All four of Tribe’s members, including the late Phife Dawg, appear on the recording sessions that took place at Q-Tip’s studio in his New Jersey home. Choosing the title that Phife wanted, Q-Tip worked to finish the pioneering hip-hop group’s final album in the wake of tragedy. “It’s so hard for me to sit in there and hear his voice,” Q-Tip told the Times. “Sometimes I just have to like take a break and walk away. It gets heavy.”

Despite the somber circumstances, We Got It From Here, Thank You For Your Service will be released just two weeks after Q-Tip’s album announcement, due out Nov. 11 via Epic Records.
