Axl Rose Steps in as Lead Vocalist for AC/DC’s Upcoming Summer Tour Dates
Photo by Ethan Miller/GettyGuns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose will officially take over frontman duties for AC/DC this summer.
Rose, who headlined the Guns N’ Roses reunion set at this year’s Coachella, will step in for AC/DC’s Brian Johnson, who had to back out of the tour due to the risk of permanent hearing loss. The news has been swirling around the rumor mill for quite some time, and the band has finally confirmed it, with Rose expected to perform with the band beginning in May.
Rose will begin tearing up the stage with his fellow rock legends during AC/DC’s 12 European dates, which kick off in Lisbon, Portugal. Rose will then head back across the Atlantic for Guns N’ Roses’ “Not In This Lifetime” stadium tour before reuniting with AC/DC once again to finish out the tour dates that were postponed after Johnson’s departure.
Rose’s initial European run with AC/DC will see him on the road starting May 7, with the final show scheduled for June 12 in Aarhus, Denmark. See the band’s full summer slate below.
