Adele to Release Video for “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” at 2016 Billboard Music Awards

Early this morning, the Billboard Music Awards tweeted to announce that the music video for Adele’s newest single, “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)”, will debut during Sunday night’s show on May 22. The video was shot in London by the Grammy-nominated director Patrick Daughters, who has also worked with acts like Feist and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, directing videos for “1234” and “Maps,” respectively.

Anticipation is high surrounding the video’s debut, as the singer hasn’t put out a music video since the critically acclaimed “Hello” quickly went on to become the most-viewed video in 24 hours, beating out Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood.” A video was never released for the second single off of 25, “When We Were Young,” meaning that Adele fans have been waiting since October of last year for a new video from the artist.

The video drops in the middle of Adele’s sold-out European tour, meaning that the singer will unfortunately not be present at the awards show in Las Vegas when the video debuts. However, opportunities abound to see her on tour in support of her latest album, even after the close of the European leg on June 15, as she is slated to headline Glastonbury on June 22 and kick off her North American tour on July 5. The artist herself posted a brief teaser of the video on Instagram this morning after the announcement. Check it out below.
