On Alpine Static, Kinski conjures experimental garage rock too loud and busy to bother with vocals. Perhaps at one time there was singing involved, but when they became too entranced with playing their instruments they eventually forgot to move their lips. The Seattle-based four-piece of guitarists Chris Martin and Matthew Reid-Schwartz, bassist Lucy Atkinson and drummer Barrett Wilke slops out ’70s-inspired bangs and grooves, occasionally feeding their guitars fistfuls of downers.
