Philadelphia band Another Michael are returning later this fall with new music. However, the project of Michael Doherty and Nick Sebastiano aren’t just coming back with one album; they’ve got two new albums in the chamber. Wishes To Fulfill is set to arrive on September 22, while Pick Me Up, Turn Me Upside Down will follow early next year—both via Run For Cover Records. To accompany the stacked announcement, Another Michael have also issued two new singles, one from each of the forthcoming projects: “Angel” and “Pick Me Up, Turn Me Upside Down.”
“Angel” is pure Another Michael folk rock, as Doherty croons across the track like a big-budget pop ballad, while the instrumental gleans Americana and emo sensibilities. It’s emotional and larger-than-life. “Can’t focus enough, rollin’ ’round town like a big dog,” Doherty sings. “But I wanna cry so much.” “Pick Me Up, Turn Me Upside Down” is a stripped down, beautiful, spectral piano ballad that finds Doherty examining self-doubt in the wake of leaning on a loved one. “When it feels overwhelming, I imagine all those coins falling out,” he sings. “Pick me up, turn me upside down.”
