Arctic Monkeys Announce 2018 Festival Dates
Photos by Theo Wargo/Getty, Kevin Winter/GettyIt’s going to be a big summer for Arctic Monkeys fans—the U.K. indie rockers have announced a festival-heavy tour slate for June, July and August, constituting their first live shows since 2014. The band is expected to release their first new record in years in 2018.
Alex Turner and company will kick off their summer run with a headlining set at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival on June 2, with stops at festivals all across Europe—and one in the U.K., at Glasgow’s TRNSMT festival on July 1—until the run ends with a show at Budapest, Hungary’s Sziget Festival on Aug. 14.
The band’s sole U.S. stop—for now—is at Dover, Del.’s Firefly Festival on June 14-17. That fest’s lineup was announced earlier this month, confirming Arctic Monkeys’ return to the road. The band went on hiatus in 2014 after headlining the U.K.’s Reading Festival.
Arctic Monkeys laid out their 2018 tour slate via social media on Monday, including a sadly soundless teaser video:

Arctic Monkeys’ long-awaited sixth album, which remains release date-less, will be their first since 2013’s acclaimed AM. They released their Mercury Prize-winning debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not in 2006—we named the record one of that decade’s best.
