At the Drive-In Have Finally Announced Their First Album in 17 Years

That’s right, they’re really back. After breaking up in 2001, then reforming and breaking up again in 2012, the famed post-hardcore outfit seem to be in it for the long haul this time. Late last year we got their first taste of what they’d been working on when they released “Governed by Contagions,” and today, along with yet another new single, they’ve given the world the details of their new record.

Titled in • ter a • li • a, which is Latin for “among other things,” the album will be out May 5 via Rise Records and will feature 11 songs, running 41 minutes. According to a press release, the album “picks up where 2000’s Relationship of Command left off … and rockets off into myriad other trajectories as unpredictable as they are intense.” Given what we heard in “Governed by Contagions,” and now with “Incurably Innocent,” that seems like a pretty apt description.

In conjunction with the album release, the band will be embarking on an extensive U.S. tour, which comes in addition to previously announced pre-album dates and which will feature support from Le Butcherettes. That will kick off May 6 in At the Drive-In’s home town of El Paso, Texas, and ticket information can be found here.
