Band of Horses Debut New Video for “Whatever, Wherever” off Forthcoming Album

Band of Horses released a new music video today entitled “Whatever, Wherever.” But, really, it’s more of a cherished home video set to a soundtrack, rather than a typical music video.

The endearing video alternates between the band playing the delicate song and footage of the members cooking out, playing cornhole and splashing in the pool at frontman Ben Bridwell’s South Carolina home. Stay-at-home-dad Bridwell wrote this song for his four daughters. Bridwell’s own fatherhood has reminded him of his close relationship with his dad and their shared music tastes. Sing Howe Yam directed the video, which was shot entirely on 16mm film and premiered in collaboration with Sonos.

The band’s fifth album Why Are You OK, which will feature “Whatever, Wherever,” comes out June 10. The band is currently touring, and will stop by The Late Late Show With James Corden on June 6 to debut “Whatever, Wherever” live.
