Dream-pop duo Beach House will release their new compilation, B-Sides and Rarities, later this month. This morning they shared a new music video for the record’s opening track “Chariot.” The video is self-directed and described by the band as “a rumination on the creation, cultivation and confusion of narratives in media.”
The video is a montage of archival shots of the Kennedy family amidst shots of airplanes and Marilyn Monroe—it’s a little eerie and weirdly nostalgic, but then again, so is Beach House’s music. You can watch the video embedded above.
“Chariot,” is one of the songs that was recorded throughout the Depression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Stars sessions, released within a couple of months of each other back in 2015. B-Sides and Rarities will be out June 30 through Sub Pop/Bella Union. Beach House are also currently on a world tour.
