Beach House to Perform in Galleries, Art Spaces Throughout North America
Beach House announced today on their site that select concerts on their North American spring tour will be taking place in alternative venues, including art galleries, art spaces and community centers. Attendees are urged to bring a pillow (seriously).
The Baltimore band will be playing as a two-piece within an instillation to crowds of 200 or less. The bad news: tickets are going to be more expensive.
“The ticket costs for these alternative-space performances are much higher than our normal shows,” the band said in a statement. “This is due to the very high production costs and low ticket number. The ticket price is set as low as possible in order to cover our costs and not lose money on the show. We sincerely apologize if it’s unaffordable for any fans who may want to attend.”
The move is an attempt to get back to the roots of their bedroom sound and the performances will consist largely of material from Thank Your Lucky Stars, Devotion and their self-titled 2006 debut.
