Watch Beirut Perform New Songs

Beirut first performed as a band in 2006 in New York. After a year-long hiatus from performing in the area, Brooklyn’s recent Northside Festival seemed like a homecoming for the band, and a good one at that. Alongside beloved tracks such as “East Harlem” and “Postcards From Italy,” Beirut debuted two new songs.

The band’s first new music since 2011’s The Rip Tide, “Rumeli” and “No No No” give us the Beirut we know and love, with both songs seamlessly infusing indie rock with multi-instrumental world music.

While there’s no word of a forthcoming album, we can hope “Rumeli” and “No No No” mean an announcement is not to far off. Until then, take a look at Beirut performing both new songs here (via We All Want Someone To Shout For).
