Watch Better Oblivion Community Center’s Performance of “Sleepwalkin'” on The Late Late Show

Better Oblivion Community Center, the new project from indie-rock darlings Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst, graced the stage of The Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday night to perform their emotionally cathartic song “Sleepwalkin’.”

The duo released their self-titled debut record in January, a welcome surprise that somehow both helped relieve our winter blues and made us wallow in them a fair bit. Oberst told Paste’s Lizzie Manno that he hoped the tracks would have people “pumping [the album] in their cars and rolling down their windows.” Indeed, their performance of “Sleepwalkin’” feels like something you want to blast through the speakers on a long midnight drive. Bridgers is the clear standout of the set, her voice immediately captivating as she sings, “You like beer and chocolate / I like setting off those bottle rockets,” savoring every word.
