A release date has finally been set for Blondie frontwoman and cultural icon Debbie Harry’s highly anticipated debut memoir, Face It, out via HarperCollins / Dey Street Books on Oct. 1.
Written in collaboration with journalist and author Sylvie Simmons, the book will center on the rise, fall and resuscitation of Blondie amidst the backdrop of pre-Giuliani New York City, featuring original essays by Harry, an introduction by Blondie guitarist Chris Stein and unseen personal photos of the band.
Harry revealed she had completed the memoir in a February interview with Rolling Stone, where she mentioned the book will trace her life story, acting career and relationship with Stein, and how the band “carried on through all that time from my sort of warped little perspective.”
The HarperCollins listing also mentions the book will explore her alleged attempted abduction by serial killer Ted Bundy, so—there’s that.
